Justin Steinberg

Portfolio Manager

Justin has over 13 years of investment experience at Steinberg Asset Management (SAM). In 2011, he launched Steinberg India Emerging Opportunities, a small and mid-cap Indian public equity strategy. He also sits on the board of Samara Capital, a leading boutique private equity firm based in Mumbai. Prior to SAM Justin worked in the Investment Banking Group at Morgan Stanley. Prior to his work in the private sector Justin served as a senior policy advisor for economic development in the Bloomberg administration and as a fourth-grade teacher through Teach for America. He is a graduate of Brown University and Harvard Business School.

Junko Usuba

June has spent over 15 years working on corporate strategy and brand management across Asia, Europe and North America. Prior to joining Sargasso, June was Head of Asia Pacific Strategy for Henkel. Previously June worked at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), The Coca-Cola Company and LVMH. June has also worked with notable climate change organizations (Systemiq, South Pole). She is a Climate Reality Leader, giving climate change presentations to local communities, and serves as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. She is a graduate of the International Christian University (Tokyo) and Harvard Business School.

Lionel Bony

Environmental Consultant

Prior to his work with Sargasso, Lionel launched and led Latin American operations for Neoen, a leading solar, wind and storage IPP, helping to secure over a gigawatt of projects in the region, including the largest battery in Central America and one of the world’s most competitive solar PPAs in Mexico. Lionel also held senior positions at Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) where he was a co-author of Amory Lovins’ landmark book, “Reinventing Fire,” and worked for Conservation International in Bolivia. He is a graduate of Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris and Harvard Business School.
